This book is fabulous because the letters were written by the actual men serving in the Union Army. The accompanying commentaries are brief and helpful.

I liked reading Studies in Classic American Literature by D.H. Lawrence, and I found it full of interesting quotes.
My favorite is certainly one present at the beginning of the book, where Lawrence talks about new experiences.
